LAMINATED GLASS
Laminated Glass is made up of two or more layers of glass permanently bonded together with an interlayer (PVB / SGP / EVA) via a controlled, highly pressurized and industrial heating process. The lamination process results in the glass panels holding together in the event of breakage, reducing the risk of harm. Laminated Glass is classified as Grade A Safety Glass. There is several laminated glass types manufactured using different glass and interlayer options that produce a variety of strength and security requirements.
Characteristics of Laminated Glass:
High Security
When laminated glass is attacked by outside force, it's hard to penetrate because the interlayer film has strong tenacity and can absorb and weaken a mass of striking energy. Even if it's broken, the pieces will stick to the interlayer and not scatter.
Sound Insulation
The interlayer film is a type of organic material and it can help block sound waves. Therefore, laminated safety glass offers better sound insulation performance than ordinary monolithic glass with the same thickness.
Anti-Ultraviolet
Most laminated glass can absorb 99% of incoming ultraviolet radiation. It protects the furniture or finished from discoloring and damage caused by the sun.
Energy-saving
The interlayer film impedes the transmission of solar heat and reduces cooling loads.
